In Lahore, as per the Lahore Development Authority Private Housing Scheme Rules, 2014, for the development of a housing scheme the developer has to execute all the developmental works within the following time periods:
1- 2 years, if the area is 100 Kanals or less;
2- 3 years, if the area is between 101 to 300 Kanals;
3- 5 years if the area is more than 300 Kanals
The developer/sponsor shall start the developmental work after getting approval of the design and specifications by the concerned agencies; in the case of water supply, sewerage and drainage works the developer has to intimate the name and address of the pipe manufacturing factory to the agency that approved the design and specifications.
Lahore Development Authority (LDA) will ensure that there is no deviation from the sanctioned housing scheme plan. If the developer fails to complete the developmental works within the specified time owing the reasons beyond his control, LDA may, after recording reasons, extend the period for completion of the development up to 2 years on payment of penalty of Rs. 10,000/Kanal for the total area of the scheme but no further extension shall be allowed.
